- 2026-09-09 — The lineage for President of the United States initially included fictional characters returned by the source. Queries were constrained to human beings; the record now shows 47 presidencies held by 45 people. Documented in How GovGlobe counts.
- 2026-09-09 — The United States' form of government was initially shown as "directorial," a value returned by Wikidata. The field was moved to the CIA World Factbook, which records "constitutional federal republic."
- 2026-09-10 — The count of separate U.S. governments was initially 92,150, which included 1,313 dependent school systems the Census Bureau does not count as governments. Corrected to 90,837, the Census figure.
- 2026-09-22 — The homepage and the About page showed raw template code, a placeholder in double curly braces, where a number belonged. Numbers inside a sentence were not being filled in. They now are, and the build fails if any placeholder reaches a page.
- 2026-09-22 — 346 officeholders were shown by their Wikidata item number instead of their name, because the source has no English label for them. They included the President of France ("Q3052772"), the Prime Minister of India ("Q1058") and the President of Mexico. Names are now taken in any language the source holds, and the build fails if any officeholder is shown by a number.
- 2026-09-22 — 18 countries showed a former officeholder as the current one, because the source's country record had not been updated. Among them: Saudi Arabia's prime minister was shown as King Salman, not Mohammed bin Salman; Nepal's and Thailand's prime ministers and Barbados's head of state were out of date; and Madagascar showed Andry Rajoelina, removed in October 2025, as president. The current holder is now checked against each person's own record. How GovGlobe counts describes the rule.
- 2026-09-22 — The ledger held only the current head of state and head of government for each country. It now holds their full lineages from the source, 10,318 tenures across 330 offices. Past holders whose end date the source does not give are shown as "not recorded," never as current.
- 2026-09-22 — Five countries showed a second, wrong head of state next to the right one, from claims the source had left open or marked as rejected. Among them: Australia also listed Peter Cosgrove, governor-general until 2019; Samoa listed its former prime minister; Niger listed a foreign minister whose claim to the office the source itself rejects. Candidates are now filtered by the rank the source gives each claim.
- 2026-09-22 — The Senate's president pro tempore was shown as Patty Murray. Chuck Grassley has held the office since 3 January 2025; the source does not record it. Pakistan's caretaker prime minister of 2023–24, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, was missing, so Shehbaz Sharif's service read as unbroken since 2022. Both are now corrected from official records, and every such correction is listed on How GovGlobe counts.
- 2026-09-23 — Three offices showed no current holder because the source records the previous holder leaving but not the successor: the prime ministers of Mauritius and Vanuatu, and the president of Somalia, whose current term the source had ended in 2024. Each is now filled from the country's own official site and listed on How GovGlobe counts. Four offices still show no holder, because no official source could be reached to confirm one: the prime ministers of the Central African Republic and the Republic of the Congo, and the heads of state of Sudan and San Marino.
